"Modelling and Optimization in Mathematical Biology"
The
minisymposium will provide an overview of recent modelling activities
in the life sciences, partially also involving optimization issues. The
biological systems addressed include structured populations, muscle contraction, and coordinated movement of cell ensembles. Optimization arises in the form of optimal control of drug delivery, and of cost functions for optimal force sharing in biomechanics.
